We arrived safe and sound last night. As we drove, the base leader Terry informed us that the power on the base had been off all day. Sure enough, we pulled up to the base where Tracey was waiting on the deck by candlelight. However, just a few minutes after unloading the luggage the power came back on which made upacking much easier.
Six teens arrived this morning from our partner church in Heredia and joined us for our morning activities which included a teaching time on prayer by Terry. Terry spoke about how prayer is being attentive to the voice of God. Just as we train our ears to listen for our cell phone when we are expecting a call, or as a mother hears their child cry in a noisy room, we need to always be listening for when God wants to speak to us, including in the noise of our lives.
We then spent some time preparing for VBS and explaining all that we had prepared to the Herdia teens that are on our team. This included an entertaining run through of the Queen Esther story while Tracey translated.
Norma and Melanie have just arrived for lunch. The lunch bell just rang so no time to add pictures now but will do so later.
Just started raining as I opened the blog to respond. Thundershower, it was a beautiful day. We meet tomorrow evening at our place to pray for you - any particulars anyone want to mention? We will pray you listen to the LORD's voice in the midst of implementing all you've planned and dealing with all you didn't plan ;-) Que Dios te bendiga!
ReplyDeleteHad 6 praying on the 6th! 15 on the 9th. Maybe there'll be 18 or 27 on the 12th @ Eidicks! (figure the math out on those numbers)
