We are currently sitting in the Houston, Texas airport as we wait six hours for our connecting flight to San Jose. The trip from Edmonton was without incident, with many team members either sleeping (apparently recovering from the 3:30 am lobby call!), or in contrast, wide awake and very chatty...
Upon landing we had a quick debriefing and quick instruction on how to navigate through the airport and when to meet again for the next flight. Abigail Fikkert read a very appropriate section of scripture from the Book of Matthew 25:
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
This just happened to be the study for Abigail from her personal devotional today. It is a great reminder, and the thematic focus of the team.
The next segment of our journey will be short - about two hours from Houston to San Jose, and then a 1 hour (approx.) drive from the airport up the mountain side to the YWAM base. Thank-you for covering us with prayer for this first leg of the trip. We continue to covet your prayers as we travel on this next leg of the adventure!
Blessings to you all.
A few pictures of the crew...

So proud of you, Abby. You and the team are in my thoughts and prayers!
