...and were treated to a very unique experience. The sharp eyes of Lorne and Stephen Eidick caught a glimpse of a sloth (aka Lazy Monkey, Oso Peresoso - spanish translation) hanging in one of the Cypress trees here on the base. There was a group of us gathered under the tree very quickly to take in this unique sighting. We were all shining our flashlights on the poor guy, as we disrupted his quiet evening. As sloths are nocturnal by nature, seeing him in the wild was a very unique experience!
Awesome! Reminds us of our "Slow Loris" pet we had in Indonesia who once got lost in our home. We found him curled up behind an open drawer in my filing cabinet. I only found him when I pushed the drawer shut and found resistance. Taking the drawer out there he was trying to catch some shut-eye :-)
