It is good to be home...

The team landed tonight safe and sound around 9:45 pm at the Edmonton airport, warmly greeted by family and friends.  The flights were, for the most part uneventful, except for the fact that we were running to catch our connecting flight in Houston to Edmonton.  With only 1.5 hours time between arrival and departure in Houston, we didn't have much time to get through US customs and security.  We boarded the plane about two minutes before departure.

Today was another bittersweet moment - it is so wonderful to be back in the comfort of our own homes with family and friends, enjoying some of the creature comforts we take for granted.  But there is a longing to still be in Costa Rica with those we have come to love and have developed relationships with.  There is also a unique bond that is formed when living in community with 40 other team members, which is not something that can be experienced when we go our own ways.

As always, we truly appreciate your prayers and support for the team.

There are many more personal reflections, images, and video clips to be added from the trip, so stay tuned in the next few days.

  2. I know the feeling - making such a difference in a needy place compared to seemingly focusing on what I need and want here at home. Keep up the discipline here too of caring for the outsiders ... whether there or here God wants your whole life to be available to serve him and others. Thanks for your good work in Costa Rica - we look forward to hearing more ... next weekend in the services and one to one as we have opportunity.
